Parallels of Mordecai and the End Time Saints

I was reading Daniel 7 this morning. While reading about the end time saints, the antichrist’s prevailing against them for a time, and the ultimate victory of the Lord’s judgment in favor of the saints, the Great Teacher made a connection for me. The Holy Spirit whispered to my heart, “Mordecai.” Suddenly the parallels began rushing into my mind.

Mordecai, Queen Esther’s uncle, was influential in the saving of his people. Check this out…

  • Mordecai, which means “Warrior”, was hated by Haman, which means “Magnificent, Illustrious”, because Mordecai would not bow to Haman.
  • The end time warrior saints will be hated by the Antichrist, who will appear magnificent to the rest of the world, because they will refuse to bow to his idol and to his kingdom established on the earth.

  • Haman made war on the Jews because of Mordecai. He commissioned the King to write a law that would allow for the annihilation of the Jews and for the plundering of their possessions on a certain day.
  • The Antichrist will make war on the saints. He will even be allowed to overcome them and prevail against them for a time.

  • At the declaration of annihilation, Mordecai and the Jews cried out to the Lord with fasting, weeping and mourning. Mordecai and Esther agreed to fast and pray and then Esther petitioned the king on behalf of her people.
  •  During this time of war on the saints, the saints will be crying out to the Lord. There will be great fasting and intercessions. The saints will cry out to the Lord asking, “How long, O Lord...” (Rev. 6:10).

  • Judgment reversed for the Jews
    • Haman so hated Mordecai that he had gallows made to hang him on. However, when the king heard from Queen Esther, Haman himself hung on those gallows instead of Mordecai.
    • Mordecai and Esther wrote a decree from the king that allowed the Jews to defend themselves against those wanting to destroy them, and also kill anyone who assaulted them to kill them or plunder their possessions.
  • A judgment will be made by God in favor of the end time saints. Jesus will come with his saints and declare war on the antichrist and his kingdom. The antichrist will be destroyed and thrown into the lake of fire.

  • Mordecai, the very man who Haman hated because of his unwillingness to bow and the man who was almost hung on gallows, became the second in command to the king.
  • The end time saints, the very ones who were battered and bloodied and martyred by the antichrist not only overcame by the blood of the Lamb and the word of the their testimony, but they also came to places of government. They will rule and reign with Christ for 1,000 years during the millennial reign.

Faithfulness. Endurance. A willingness to stand until the end. No matter what it looks like. No matter if it means death and suffering. Faithfulness. Unending Faithfulness.

Scriptures used were the book of Esther, Daniel 7, and the book of Revelation.

What if Jesus meant what He said? - "If you love me..."

The thought occurred to me today.   What if Jesus meant what He said? He said a lot.   A whole lot. And if He is God, then we should listen to what He said. If He is our Lord, then we should listen to what He said. I want to go on a journey of exploring what He said.   He is the Word and He is God.   I think what He said is worth exploring and worth living by.   The first thing I want to look at is in John 14.   This will give the premise for the entire journey of seeking out what Jesus said.   Because if Jesus meant this… then the rest of what He said is VERY important. Jhn 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments.” Jhn 14:21 "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." Jhn 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come ...

A thought

There are easy days. And then there are difficult days. This is my reassurance: God is constant and He is always faithful. “If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.” – 2 Timothy 2:13

Ezekiel 14:12-23

I read this passage last night. I have seen a verse or two about it... but the entirety of it gripped me when I read it. I had never thought about it as a principle. "When a land sins against Me by persistent unfaithfulness..." Then I was blown away by the men God used as examples. Noah, Daniel, Job. Men whose lives have a tremendous impact on the end-time saints. To be the only ones delivered in your righteousness. What was it like to watch an entire culture that God was not pleased with and see his judgment poured out accordingly. Righteous men - Noah, Daniel, Job - who stood, even when they stood alone. And yes, all three of those men, stood in their righteousness alone. They all faced scoffing and hatred of them. There are lessons in all of these men's lives. God judges nations. He judges lands that sin against the Lord in persistent unfaithfulness. But there are righteous ones in the midst of judgment. Eze 14:12-23 The word of the LORD came again to me...
