Hab 2:3
For the vision [is] yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.
Quote from book “Unrelenting Prayer” by Bob Sorge:
You may wait on God a long time, but when God finally chooses to act on your behalf, He will act decisively and change everything dramatically and suddenly. Habakkuk would have resolved the tension with the same answer. I can imagine him saying, “…When the Promise of God tarries, wait for it to be fulfilled because there is coming a day when He will fulfill His Promise. And when He does, there will be no further tarrying or hesitation or prolonging of the waiting season. Everything will change swiftly. And the dramatic nature of the change will be attributable to God alone, so all the praise will be His.”Sometimes God seems slow to respond to your prayers; but when He finally rises up and puts the thing into gear, fasten your seatbelt, you’re in for a ride. Because when God finally steps into action, the thing is going to shake down and shake down quickly.
I am in a season of my life right now where I am waiting. Actually, I think within the next few months of summer, I will be coming out of the season of waiting, and I will begin to see the next steps that God wants me to take. The problem is I am not in August, July, or even May. I am here at the end of April. My flesh is impatient. There are areas of my life that I know God is going to manifest Himself and His plan in the next few months. But again, my flesh is impatient.
It is not that I can’t wait. I can. I have already, and I will continue to. As a matter of fact, there are things that I was waiting on that I can now see God moving in. The problem is I am a planner. I like to plan ahead and get excited about things. So when God reveals things to me, I am excited about them, I pray about them, and I am so ready for them to start!
Patience.
Waiting.
Patience.
Waiting.
Self-Control.
Prayer.
Waiting.
Psa 62:5
My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation [is] from Him.
Psa 130:5
I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope.
