Why do we have dreams and visions?

Amos 7:1-3
THUS the Lord GOD showed me: Behold, He formed locust swarms at the beginning of the late crop; indeed it was the late crop after the king's mowings.
And so it was, when they had finished eating the grass of the land, that I said:
"O Lord GOD, forgive, I pray!
Oh, that Jacob may stand,For he is small!"
So the LORD relented concerning this.
"It shall not be," said the LORD.


In this season of revelation where God is revealing things to us through dreams and visions, we must remember that these things are not given to us to feel cool or tell your friend you had a cool dream/vision. God is giving us these dreams and visions because he is searching for a person to stand on the wall and stand in the gap-- to pray and to intercede for the situation that you have been made aware of (see Isaiah 59:16 and Ezekiel 22:30). Use the revelation as direction in your prayer life. As God reveals something, PRAY! He is looking for an intercessor. He is looking for a prayer warrior to fight. Pray over your dreams and visions and ask the Lord to reveal how you need to pray.

The thought occurred to me today.   What if Jesus meant what He said? He said a lot.   A whole lot. And if He is God, then we should listen to what He said. If He is our Lord, then we should listen to what He said. Ezekiel 14:12-23

I read this passage last night. I have seen a verse or two about it... but the entirety of it gripped me when I read it. I had never thought about it as a principle. "When a land sins against Me by persistent unfaithfulness..." Then I was blown away by the men God used as examples. Noah, Daniel, Job. Men whose lives have a tremendous impact on the end-time saints. To be the only ones delivered in your righteousness. What was it like to watch an entire culture that God was not pleased with and see his judgment poured out accordingly. Righteous men - Noah, Daniel, Job - who stood, even when they stood alone. And yes, all three of those men, stood in their righteousness alone. They all faced scoffing and hatred of them. There are lessons in all of these men's lives. God judges nations.
